Founded in 2020, Ballard Civil Services bridges the gap between owners, engineers, contractors, and excavators, bringing field experience along with project and construction management expertise to help teams find common ground.

Owner and Senior Consultant Matt Ballard brings a lifetime of experience in the civil construction industry, from his early years working with his grandfather’s excavation company supporting high-tech sector design-build projects for a local excavation company. With a personable demeanor and a no-nonsense approach, Matt provides an invaluable resource for his clients and their projects.

Matt has a passion for helping project teams deliver safe, constructable, and value-based project solutions. He works collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, engineers and facility owners and operators to address multiple layers of project concerns and complexities. His industry knowledge, field expertise, and bottom-line managerial skills allow hime to solve problems that keep projects out of trouble and seek solutions that create positive project experiences.

I worked with Matt on several very complex design build projects over the years and he is one of the most collaborative and responsive contractors I’ve worked with.  Matt always found a way to start work early to remove some of the schedule pressure from the design team and keep our overall project on track.  I would work with Matt again in a heartbeat!
